HIGH RATE OF TAXATION UNDER GST.

Kerala Travel Mart (KTM),a leading Tourism body has expressed concern
over high rates of taxation under GST regime. They say that it would stifle
the Tourism business thus making it unsustainable.A KTM delegation met

GST structure is the highest in the world. They further requested the
Finance Minister to reduce the tax for hotels from 28% to 18% & for
tour operators, it amounts to 33% (28% GST Plus Tour operator's tax
of 5% ).Further, they requested the FM to reduce the GST to 5% which
was charged earlier  for House Boats from 28% charged at present
