Goa & Tourism: Tourism is the backbone of Goan economy with 40%
of the population directly or indirectly dependent on Tourism.The
Tourists arrivals increased from 2.3 million in 2005 to 7.8 million
in 2017 with an annual growth of 10.7%.Domestic Tourists
contributing nearly 88.6% of total arrivals.
The peak season is October to December which sees nearly 50%
of Tourist arrivals.
As per the master plan-Draft policy for Promoting Tourism in Goa,
the Vision is :
Make Goa the most preferred destination around the year for high
spending Tourists in india by 2023,and a World Class International
Tourism destination by 2030.
